What do you see?

As I was reviewing potential photos of the year, a few mushroom photos were definitely contenders.

I love when nature teases you to use your imagination and take a second look. The yellow mushroom clump on the left, a photo taken by a friend, was an image that stuck with me long after a first glance. I immediately saw a woman in a short skirt holding an umbrella. Her right elbow is visible and I can almost imagine her face, inconspicuous beneath the umbrella as if she’s dashing through a heavy rain. Her skinny legs offering an elegant poise. Now I can’t unsee it! What a great image.

I also love the photo of what appears to be noses protruding from the ground. Or, in the spirit of Halloween, maybe they are knuckles. Or toes. Eeewwww…creepy.
