Photos of the year: 2026
As we head into the last months of 2026, it’s time to reflect back on memories of this current cabin season that will soon draw to a close.
It was a year where everything old was new again. The century-old pine floors were uncovered and refinished in cabins 2, 3, 4, and 7. What a thrill to see them again! Even with some flaws, paint, and repairs, these floors are authentic, which is priceless. For inquiring minds, Cabin 1 also had its original wood floors refinished in 2022.
To celebrate the semiquincentennial of the United States, we produced a winning parade float titled “Women Who Made America,” featuring Betsy Ross, Susan B. Anthony (yours truly), Rosie the Riveter, Rosa Parks, and Eleanor Roosevelt. What fun to celebrate these strong women.
Several dear friends who have come to the cabins for multiple decades passed on, but new guests reminded us that every day brings new memories and continues the legacy of Manninen’s Cabins. We are all so blessed to be a part of the story.
Thanks to everyone who visited the cabins in 2026 and helped us celebrate our 90th season.
